Meet Brittany

Hiii!!! I’m Brit, a full-time photographer based in Western Pennsylvania, who specializes in weddings (local, destination, + elopements), and engagements.

In 2014, I graduated from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, with my Bachelor's of Fine Art in Graphic Design with full intent of originally becoming a graphic designer. My interest in photography arose after taking a required basic photography class in order to fulfill my BFA (in October of 2012).

After realizing where my heart was, I set out to acquire my Masters Degree in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship specialization) in 2015 in order to pursue my dream and further my business potential. With my background in art and design, I was able to relate what I knew about post-processing software directly to what I learned about photography. Since then, I have developed my own unique shooting and post-processing style which emphasizes the beauty of natural light. I now specialize in rustic & modern imagery taken among Western PA's most gorgeous outdoor locations and venues.

There is a ton of hard work that goes on behind the scenes, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I truly believe that creating lifelong memories and experiences for people is my purpose in life.

I am originally from North Carolina + half of my family still lives there.
My husband (Nick) and I are currently building our dream log cabin
Christmas is my absolute faaaaavorite time of the year!!!
I spend most of the month of November sitting in a treestand.
I was born with red hair.
I am a puppy mama to the sweetest little black hunting lab, ‘Birdie’.
I am NOT a morning person… I feel most awake and creative late at night.

What’s in your bag?

How long have you been taking photos?

What if I'm awkward in front of the camera?

I shoot with a 5D Mark IV, and have two 5D Mark III backup bodies. I have a plethora of lighting gear and lenses I use for all different reasons, but my most common used ones are my 50mm f/1.2 L, 24-70mm f/2.8 L, 70-200mm IS f/2.8 L, 85mm f, 1.2 L/135mm f/1.2 L, 24mm f/1.4 L, & 100mm macro f/2.8 L. When I use them completely depends on what I’m shooting, how much light/space I have, and what look I’m trying to capture! I have three Yongnuo flashes that I use (if I absolutely have to), but prefer to use standing flood lights with floor standing mounts, if I can! The remainder of my bag consists of the essentials: SD cards, transmitters, receivers, etc.

I first started taking photos in my sophomore year of college (in 2011) after taking a required photography class to fulfill credits. From that point on, I couldn’t put my camera down. I look back at old work and literally CRINGE at the photos. It’s taken a lot of years of learning & work to get where I’m at with my craft!

I get this one ALL the time!! Truthfully, very few people are comfortable in front of the camera (I myself turn into a stiff awkward turtle, hence why I stay behind the lens!!) Sometimes it requires mini dance parties, music, an activity (doing something you love) or just a lot of direction in general to get the shots I want. In the first 2 minutes it’ll likely feel awkward, but I’ll having you laughing (probably at my own expense) and feeling comfortable in nooo time!!
